As you can see my Blackberry Torch 9800 doesn't have the 3G only option as my Curve 9300 had *sad face* *also using UTS at the moment* now im going to show you HOW to enable the 3G only option via this amazing menu called "Engineering Screen"
To get acces to this screen just pres these 3 buttons on your Blackberry (ATL+SHIFT+H)
first you would need to download this software <<(click to download) called "vnbb Utils"
As you can see you have to enter your device PIN - App-version - Uptime
Below screen shot is my data from my Torch 9800 *feel free to add my ping*
After filling in ALL the correct information about your Blackberry FROM THE screen you get after you press (ALT+SHIFT+H) click the GENERATE button and fill the key into your blackberry Engineering Screen....*nothing would happen while typing the key* use ALT key to enter numbers.....if all is correct you would see the REAL Engineering Screen as in the image below.
Now that we have successively enter the Engineering Screen screen we would want to go into "Mobile Network Engineering Screens" then scroll DOWN till you find PLMN SELECTION and click it.......
NOW BEFORE WE PROCEED,THIS IS ON YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Now that where into PLMN selection pres menu and change the "Selection mode" to MANUAL
And now for the 3G only and 2G only selection....pres the menu key AGAIN and follow the bellow intrusctions
For the 3G only mode disable RAT_GERAN and you would see your network switching to 3G
And for 2G *edge* only mode disable RAT_UTRAN and you would see your network dropping to 2G
RAT_GERAN is just an fancy name for 3G connectivity and RAT_UTRAN for GSM/EDGE
Thats it folks and now you can enjoy yout 3G speeds with Digicel "THE BIGGER,BETTER and now FASTERRRR" network on Curacao
